My Vegetable Growing Kit for Kids - $6.50

My Vegetable Growing Kit provides a fun hands-on activity for children to grow their own vegetables. Each growing kit consists of vegetable seeds and naturally composted soil, packed in a handy box with step-by-step instructions and a plastic spoon. Our selection of vegetable seeds include kang kong, chye sim and other oriental vegetables.

Through this hands-on activity, we hope that our children can learn important lessons like the plant life cycle, caring for nature, and assuming responsibility.

The starter kit consists of vegetable seeds and naturally composted soil, packed in a handy box with easy to follow instructions. All they have to do is water daily and observe the various stages of germination and root development through the transparent walls of the kit.

Our specially blended soil provides enough nutrients until the plants mature, so there is no need to add any more soil, fertilizers or additives.

Our goal is to provide children a hassle-free vegetable growing kit, so that they can sow, water and watch the vegetable grow. They can also harvest and taste their own effort afterwards.

Mummy's comments

This is a great product! I loved it. I have been searching for something like this for my son for a long time and I was very happy to come across this.

Hassle free, no mess, easy to grow and a great educational tool!
As the soil is nutrient enriched, kids do not need to add fertilizer which makes it safer for them too.

My son's plants growing after a few days....he was really excited and even my gal is very excited over the plants...she's only a year old.

Adults version are available too. Each kit is $12. (refer to the post Easy Starter Kit)

Additional seed packets at $2.50 each.

Keep seeds refrigerated to prolong shelf life.

Variety: As the kit is pretty small for kids, the selection of vegetables that can be grown is limited. Kang Kong, Chye Sim, Spinach, Lettuce

FAQ:

Can the soil be reused after 2 rounds?

- For the 2nd round, before using, use a spade to loosen the soil and add some soil (some soil will be lost when you pull the vegetables out).

- After 2 rounds, it is best to check if the soil is still in good condition. Sometimes you may get parasites like mealy bugs in the soil which will affect the plant growth. If that is the case, throw it away. If it looks good, just loosen it, add more soil and some fertiliser and it's good to go.

Hi,
As with all plants, should not over water. There are holes at the bottom of the kit for excess water to flow out. So before watering, check whether the soil is dry or damp. About half a cup of water will do. THen after 30 min, pour away the excess water. (use something to catch the excess water).

Thanks a lot! I will be doing another BP for this in Nov (prob 3rd week or so).
